Kagura

Kagura is a traditional form of song and dance performed as an offering to gods in Shinto. Hiroshima is known for its thriving Kagura tradition, particularly in the northern region called Geihoku. Geihoku Kagura is characterized by its splendid costumes, expressive Kagura masks, and dances accompanied by drums and flutes. "Kagura Monzen Toujimura," located in Akitakata City, is a highly recommended spot where you can enjoy traditional Japanese performing art KAGURA, indulge in hot springs and experience the nostalgic streetscape.

Tanada in Ini

Tanada refers to terraced rice fields that are created in sloping areas of mountainsides, among other places. Ini's Tanada has been selected as one of "Japan's 36 most beautiful places," alongside Itsukushima Shrine. At the Tanada, you can enjoy a meal or coffee in front of the rice terraces and spend leisure time immersing yourself in the serene atmosphere.

Ski resorts

The Geihoku area is home to numerous ski resorts popular among skiers. Among them, "Utopia Saioto" offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for adventurers and families to enjoy. "Osorakan Snow Park," located at the highest peak in the prefecture, boasts excellent snow quality and snowfall. It is also known as a holy ground for moguls in western Japan. "Yawata Highland 191 Resort" is another popular choice, offering a variety of courses.

Sandan-kyo

The Sandankyo Gorge is the only gorge in western Japan that has been designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty by the national government. With a total length of approximately 16 kilometers, it offers untouched natural beauty and allows visitors to experience the charm of each season, including vibrant autumn foliage. You can enjoy five famous spots while hiking or taking a boat ride within the gorge. Why not fully indulge in the rejuvenating power of nature?
